A prototype can prove that an idea is possible. It cannot, by itself, prove that people will trust the product, keep using it, or pay for it.

That gap is where commercial vibe coding begins.

AI tools make it easier to turn an idea into working software. The next job is less glamorous and more valuable: collect enough evidence to decide what to improve, what to remove, and whether the product deserves a wider release.

Three tests for the next version

1. Will people trust it?

Trust starts with honest product behavior. Can a new visitor understand who owns the app, what it does, what data it needs, and what happens when something goes wrong?

You do not need to claim that the product is perfectly secure. You do need to stop treating security, privacy, recovery, and support as work for an imaginary future version.

2. Will people use it again?

A successful demo is not the same as a useful product. Ask someone in the target audience to complete one real task with low-risk data. Watch where they hesitate. Then ask whether the result was useful enough to repeat next week.

That answer is more valuable than a general score or a compliment about the interface.

3. Will people pay for the outcome?

Payment is not only a pricing question. It is evidence that the problem matters, the result is credible, and the offer is clear enough to compare with doing nothing or using an alternative.

Before building another feature, write down:

  • who has the problem;

  • what changes after they use the product;

  • what evidence they need before trusting the result;

  • what they use today instead;

  • what small paid commitment would test real demand.

Take your current product and answer three questions:

  1. Trust: What is the biggest reason a careful user would stop?

  2. Use: Which single task should become easier or better?

  3. Pay: What evidence would make the outcome worth money?

Choose one answer as the next experiment. A focused feedback question, a safer permission flow, or a small paid diagnostic can teach you more than another week of unprioritized building.
